A dazzling new show which combines a true story of bravery and daring with the much loved songs of the Great War is to take to the stage to raise much needed funds for the ex-forces community. Performed by Chester based Singer-actress trio “The Harmonettes” and produced by BAFTA nominated writer and director Janys Chambers, “Dorothy’s War” is set in 1919 and is based on a little known but extra-ordinary true story of daring and courage in the years before during the first World War.
The story is told through the fabulous songs of the day, from much-loved favourites to forgotten gems, all performed live by The Harmonettes, fresh from the success of their previous show “The Harmonettes Go into Orbit” which received a 5 star review at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Charles Wright, Chairman of Llay RBL Branch Committee said “We are delighted that the show is coming to Llay and that it will raise much needed funds for the Poppy Appeal, we really hope it will be well supported and are sure that the audience on the night is in for a real treat”
