Arts/community funding + bid writing training for volunteers Tuesday 16 th February 2016 The course will provide information + practical advice on where to look for funding sources and how to make the best application to suit the requirements of your project, group or venue. The process of bid writing can be daunting + confusing, often filled with funding jargon. The course will help you navigate through this field and find out what funders are really looking for in bid applications + how to make your bid stand out. Who is the course for? Cheshire-based volunteers who enable arts activity to take place in local communities. This includes voluntary arts groups from across Cheshire, including amateur musical/theatre groups, artist collectives, galleries, creative spaces and dance groups. When and where is the course? There are 2 sessions on 16th February 2016, both in Chester. Content of each session is identical. Session 1 – 2pm-4.30pm. Cheshire West and Chester Council HQ Room G2, Ground floor, HQ building, Nicholas Street, Chester, CH1 2NP. Session 2 – 6pm-8.30pm. St Mary’s Creative Space, 2 St Mary’s Hill, Chester, CH1 2DW. Places on this course are FREE However, if you do not attend your session after booking, you will be liable to pay £8 for your place, which will be billed to you after the event. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The course is run by Stephen Wright of the company ‘Grant Funding Skills’. Stephen has vast experience in bid writing + funding, and has been working particularly with community groups, arts groups, charities, volunteers + venues, to source and apply for a wide range of funds.
