ORGANIST HONOURED BY THE QUEEN MAKES WELCOME RETURN TO CONCERT VENUE
Llay Organ Society, the only remaining Society of its kind for Organ and Keyboard enthusiasts in the Wrexham, Chester and Flintshire area resumes its season of concerts later this month when it welcomes an Organist who was recently honoured by The Queen.
 
The concert, to be staged at Llay Royal British Legion on Wednesday 26th August at 8pm will see popular Organist Nicholas Martin take to the stage to perform a concert featuring a variety of music including theatre organ, swing, jazz, easy listening, music from the musicals and film, light classical pieces and much more.
 
Nicholas is a firm favourite at the Llay venue having performed for the Society numerous times over the years and he regularly performs throughout the UK and America in concert for Organ Societies and convention style events. Nicholas made his 30th visit to the States earlier this year to perform in Dunedin on the West Coast of Florida. For 21 years, Nicholas was the resident Organist at the World famous Turners Musical Merry-go-round in Northampton from 1983 until its closure in 2004.
 
In 2014, Nicholas was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for his fundraising and support for children and families affected by Autism through the charity “Miracles To Believe In” which he co-founded in 2001 with his wife Marianne. The couple have two sons, James and Joshua who are both Autistic and are committed through the charity to raising awareness of the needs of Children and young Adults with Autism as well as fund raising to improve facilities in their local area of Leicestershire and Rutland.
