Minerva Arts Aviva Funding Success
Minerva Arts are proud to announce they have been successful in gaining funding from the Aviva Community Fund to help support their new youth theatres in Neston and Malpas.
The small but important funds will help Minerva Arts establish youth theatre provision in these two new locations this summer, offering new and exciting youth theatre in both areas and increasing the cultural offer to young people across Cheshire West and Chester.
The Aviva Community Fund is an open fund, which asks supporters to vote for projects they like the most. Minerva Arts gained over 900 votes to help fund their summer youth theatres in both areas.
Artist Director Steph Brocken said “We would like to thank all of the generous people who have voted for us in the Aviva Community Fund. Having success with this will ensure our new youth theatres’ get off to a strong start and will give us a firm foundation to continue this provision beyond the summer.”
Both youth theatres commenced this week (01 June 2015) and will continue throughout the summer. With sessions taking place in Neston for young people aged 14-19 on Mondays, 6-8pm at the Community and Youth Centre and Malpas for young people aged 8-13 on Thursdays, 6-8pm at the Young Person’s Centre.
The extended offer from Minerva Arts adds to the thriving junior and senior youth theatres already taking place each week in Chester at the University of Chester’s Kingsway Buildings (Seniors – Wednesday 7pm – 9pm) and the Cheshire Military Museum (7-11, 10am-12 Saturdays).
