Remixed Echoes: Voices of Chester, v1, 2015
is the first part in an ongoing creative dialogue with Chester and the University, here acclaimed artist curator Mike Chavez-Dawson remixes material generated from two inaugural socially-engaged projects with Hoole Community Centre and Chester Library by Art & Design B.A. (Hons) final year students* into a responsive multi-part; theatre-cum-construction site with concrete poetry artworks; posters, video, audio, performances and a limited edition Remixed Echoes Sorbet (Blackberry, Rosemary & Sage).
Opening Event 23 Apr 2015 5-7pm
On Monday the 27th April from 10am to 3pm the acclaimed published Poet, TEXT Festival Co-Curator and The Dark Would Curator Philip Davenport will perform a five hour live catalogue essay whilst a small documentary film crew films him responding, reflecting and composing his thoughts around Chavez-Dawson’s project-as-exhibition.
The exhibition continues until 1st May 2015, admission is free. CASC is open Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm only.
There will also be a schedule of performances by B.A. (Hons) students* from the Music & Drama course who will be responding to directed material by Chavez-Dawson.
