Get the1930s film experience at Chester Film Co-op – This weekend!

As part of the Journey Through Time Northgate Quarter Festival, The Chester Film Co-op are excited to be screening a selection of films which would have been screened in the Chester Odeon back in the 1930’s.

 

On Sunday June 29th at The Chester Film Co-op, Studio 1, Northgate Street

All FREE and no booking required! (and there will be POPCORN!)

 

12:00-1:15pm: The Edge of the World (1937)

Directed by Michael Powell, The Edge of the World tells the story of the inhabitants of a remote island, whose traditions and way of life are threatened by a rapidly industrialising world.

 

1:30- 2:30: Flash Gordon (1936)

In this science fiction film serial, Flash Gordon and Dale Arden are drafted in by Dr. Hans Zarkov to save Earth from being destroyed by the runaway planet Mongo.

 

2:30-4pm: The Young in Heart (1938)

Starring Douglas Fairbanks Junior, who opened the Chester Odeon in 1936, The Young at Heart follows a family of tricksters who meet a lonely, rich old spinster and convince her to let them into her life so they can swindle her money.
