Flintshire and Cheshire residents are being called upon to vote for local website, Tweed & Tea, who are up for Best Vintage Blog in this year’s National Vintage Awards.
A side project of local photographer, Leona Turford, Tweed & Tea sees her take her passion for vintage culture and fashion into blog form. The site itself has only been running only for the past year so being nominated against such well established competition in the National Vintage awards is quite the accolade for photographer turned writer Leona Turford.
Tweed & Tea has already gained local interest having showcased local businesses with a vintage flair (Becnicks wonder emporium, Zugers tearooms, OK diner) and vintage inspired events (Judy’s vintage fair, Chester) within the blog.
“The site started as a means to expand my writing work within and area I’m passionate about, vintage lifestyle. Aimed at the “Modern woman who longs for the style & culture of days gone”, Tweed & Tea has certainly gone down well since it’s launch last March” says Leona. “To be nominated for the hard work that’s gone into the site is just wonderful and of course it would simply be amazing if I were to win!”.
Taking place in Central Birmingham on Thursday 19th June, the national vintage awards ceremony has been created to celebrate the independent businesses who keep the vintage scene alive. Voting takes place online at http://www.thenationalvintageawards.co.uk throughout May and to vote for Tweed & Tea you should go to the Best Vintage Blog page.
It’s quite an accolade for Tweed & Tea to be nominated, to win would certainly be outstanding, Flintshire & Cheshire residents are encouraged to vote in the awards, not just for Tweed & Tea but for the other talented vintage upstarts nominated in the awards.
All the best Leona!
