Theatre in the Quarter

Russell Kirk-Art Exhibition
January 10- February 14. 10am-4pm
The University of Chester
An exhibit of this local artists works. Russell is responsible for organizing many of Chester’s festivals-and parades: Mid Summer/ Winter watch/ Christmas Lights.
This exhibit presents much of his work with elements of the parades and his expressive drawings.

Chester University
Riverside Museum Opening
January 8. 1:pm-4:pm

The Faculty of Health and Social Care Riverside Museum will be open to the public from 1pm to 4pm.

Riverside Campus – please go to main reception opposite the River Dee
According to The University of Chester website:
Visitors with an interest in health and social care or local history are welcome to come along and find out more from the volunteers, many of whom have a healthcare background.
Please note that that we have modest accommodation and there is limited space in the Museum (maximum of 30 people). Visitors should go to the main Riverside Campus reception (formerly County Hall) opposite the River Dee. There is no car parking available. The address is: University of Chester, Riverside Campus, Castle Drive, Chester CH1 1SL.

Every day at the Visitor Centre Chester, next to the Town Hall
You can enjoy walking tours.
At 10:30am the history of Chester…approx 1 1/2 hours.
At 12:00 and 3:00pm there is a Roman Tour– led by a Roman Escort in full dress. The guides are incredibly knowledgable and passionate about Chester’s history. A recommend tour – even for Chester natives.
No need to pre-book just show up a few minutes before the tour begins to participate.

On the night everyone is asked to bring along a beer to swap with others- sharing one you love and taking one to try out at home! A beer to swap can also be purchased on the night from the Cellar Bar if you prefer.This magical event can also be booked for your home or office.

Life drawing classes at Handel’s Court Gallery , Northgate Street,

starting Wednesday January 15th.

What the Gallery will provide:

Easels and boards, paper and some art material.

A fully trained teacher

A life model

A beautifully lit room

These are 2 hour classes and are held weekly on Wednesdays from 7pm-9pm

This is the broad outline of the contents of the life drawing classes. We will look strongly at proportion and that will feature throughout the classes. We will also enjoy looking at; line, movement and rhythm; light, form and tone; shape, basic construction then foreshortening and a little perspective; mood and emotion; use of different types of drawing materials.

Tickets on sale now for the February production of LES MISERABLES – Queens Park High School
The show will be from Tues 11 Feb until Friday the 14th.
In partnership with the Chester Philharmonic Orchestra this proves to be an amazing production.
The students have been working very hard on this show and it will be the biggest one ever produced on the 100 year old stage.
