I would like bring you some up-to-date info on the Happenings in this beautiful city of ours, review some of those events and basically share the love about Chester!

Theatre:

The Little Theatre of Chester – The Chester Theatre Club
November Production:
California Suite a delightful comedy by Neil Simon

Film

The Chester Film Society – the only cinema in town!
Join them for three dates in November the 5, 9 and 26.

The films are shown at St Mary’s Centre, St Mary’s Hill, The Little Theatre and The Steam Mill.

Chester Racecourse РThe Roodee
Held at the usual location of Chester Racecourse. Gates are open from 4.30pm. The Toddlers event starts at 6.45pm
 ( no loud noises for the little ones)
with the main event at 7.30pm. Please be there ahead of time otherwise you will miss the start! Tickets are £5 each with 6 years and under free.


On Bonfire Night, November 5th
¬†Telford,’s Warehouse ¬†is hosting a ¬†Bonfire Burlesque Night starting at 7:30pm

The Handel’s Court Gallery , Northgate Street.¬†
The gallery has been renovated and  opened now to include the old butcher shop on 
Northgate Street. 
Beautiful Art exhibits- walk in anytime to have a look around!

A little physical, gentle exercise, but a torrent of laughter gets endorphins moving and creates a strong sense of well being and relaxation.

    Mabel’s War Taster Session
    Join Minerva Arts,
  • The Grosvenor Museum and the Military Museum for a fun, free drama workshop introducing the Mabel’s War Project.
  • This is a project for children aged 7-11 exploring the stories collected by Mabel, a Cheshire nurse working in the First World War.

Christmas Lights


Hoole– the lights in Hoole will be switched on on the 16th of November– always a fun evening with music and more!

The Chester Lights Parade and Spectacular takes place on the 21st.
A true community event with a parade filled with locals , amazing costumes and music. This is a Chester tradition not to be missed! The streets are tradition filled — and the atmosphere wonderful!

Starting on November 21
There will be a traditional Christmas Market just outside the Town Hall.  
This will host of 40 stalls offering a wide range of sweets and treats!
The market will be open every day 10am-6pm Sunday -Wednesday and from 10am-8pm on Thursday- Saturday.
There will be many new vendors this year .

The Chester Racecourse will host a Winter Wonderland  as well! 
This will include stalls , food and gifts, a real ice rink, Amusements, an Alpine Beer Bar and a Vodka Ice Bar. There will also be a Santa’s Grotto, Santa Letter writing workshop and a festive¬†
3-d movie room. 

BROUGHTON CELTIC CHRISTMAS FAYRE

  • November 27 to December 1 – Celtic Christmas Fayre, Broughton, Chester.
  • Broughton Retail park will host a celtic christmas fayre with around¬† 1000 stalls!! These will include Arts, Crafts, Food and drinks….
  • Opening times are WED- Sat 9:30-18:00 and Sunday from 9:30-17:00
A traditional Christmas with The Lord Mayor of Chester
23rd November- 21st December
2-4pm, every Saturday
Town Hall, Northgate St, 
– part of the Christmas Celebrations- To support The Lord Mayor’s Charity fund for Adoption Matters Northwest – there is a suggested donation of ¬£1. You can enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie with The Lord Mayor herself.
